The ' Street ' comes to entertain us

By Andrew Hewitt, 05 December 2009 – 0 comment

It seems ages since the flood and most things are back to normal apart from business has been hit very hard I think mainly due to all the press coverage and their disaster hype. At such times there always comes a Hero of the moment and for me it was HRH Prince Charles. He has a strong affiliation with Cumbria and its people,he came to the worst hit areas of Cockermouth and Workington and spent time talking to people and praising their resilience and fighting spirit giving a much need lift to the people of those areas. I even sent him an email to thank him.

Ambleside and particulary Waterhead has been a film location for the past week, great excitement at this quiet time. A film crew with hosts of ancillary support teams have been filming on the Lake at night time for a very popular ITV Soap. Staying with us have been paramedics, fire fighters, boat rescue teams, divers and members of the cast. Watch out in the new year for some exiting episodes!

We only have two weeks left before we close for the Christmas break. We have a few Christmas parties booked and our own booked at The Glass House on the final day 20th December its always a good night and without fail some always gets too much into the festive spirit and highly amuses us all, just hope its not me. Christmas will be the usual family gathering at Mothers and ManCity are at home on Boxing Day and then it's my birthday and then back to work for the New Years Celebration! I might try and get away in January to recover from the excesses!

Happy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year!

Cheers
