Helen's Blog!

Well I can't believe it Spring has finally arrived! The clock's go forward tonight so its official British Summer Time is here! Hurrah! I love this time of year. There's nothing I like more than putting Isabel in the back pack now the nice weather is finally here and getting out for a lovely long walk up the fells around Coniston.
I can't believe I've been back behind the desk for 6 months already since my maternity leave, the time has literally flown by!
It has been so nice to see so many familiar faces and catch up with what's been happening with you all!
It's the Coniston 14 today (a sponsored annual event of running around coniston lake) and I was very thankful when I got up this morning at 6am (I'm on the early shift today!) that the sun was shining for it. For the first time in nearly 100 years of this event the course has had to be changed due to a bridge still being out of use due to the floods in November. So this year it had been renamed Coniston 14+2! (16 miles around the lake)
We actually have a few guests staying with us taking part, I have yet to see their return! I am sure they will have had a great day.
I have never actually done it myself but there are lots of locals as well as people from all over the country that enter. Oh well there is always next year! I have done my bit for the event though by baking all day Thursday for our Mother & Toddler Group who hold a cake sale outside the church to fund raise for the event.
So I'm off home now to see if it was one of the locals who won! and if they made record time, and I must remind Radana to put her clock forward other wise she'll be late on reception in the morning!
Hope to see soon
