The Lake District larder is incredibly rich in diverse, flavoursome foods and our team of skilled Chefs is passionate about serving local, seasonal foods to satisfy the palette of each and every guest.
Head Chef John Mathers and his team love nothing more than creating new menus to delight our guests on a daily basis; menus that use fresh locally sourced produce from the best producers in and around the Lake District.
The food larder in our area is almost as famous as the fells and lakes, bursting as it is with a wide variety of wonderful fresh food. From Morecambe Bay Shrimps and juicy Lyth Valley damsons to traditional handmade Cumberland sausages, full flavoured Herdwick lamb and fell bred beef, the choice of quality ingredients is virtually endless. And of course delicious sticky toffee pudding is guaranteed to satisfy the heartiest hill walker's appetite!
All of these signature ingredients feature regularly on our breakfast, lunch and dinner menus - which can be enjoyed by guests and non-residents alike.
Our wine list has been drawn up to complement the dishes Chef and his team conjure up, featuring as it does many interesting wines from small family producers. We also stock a great selection of local beers from Coniston, Hawkshead, Ambleside and Dent to give a real local flavour.
