What better way to start your New Years break than with a warm welcome accompanied by a afternoon tea and hot crumpets, served in our lounges with the fells and lake as your backdrop, it's the perfect way to unwind ahead of the celebrations. Settle in to your cosy room and get ready for evening ahead with a welcoming punch, canapes and a wonderful dinner whilst listening to our resident musician.
New Years Eve in the Lake District
After a hearty breakfast why not join the guided walk leaving form our front door and taking in some of the beautiful Ambleside fells. Upon returning to a delicious afternoon tea its time to get ready for the celebrations ahead.
Our evening begins with a round of delicious treats; Homemade canapés to wet your appetite whilst you ponder the menus and wine list.
Dinner followed by dancing - our New Years Eve gala dinner comprises of seven courses of all our favourites from haggis and smoked salmon to locally sourced Lakeland beef.
Then it's time to hit the floor and dance the night, and the year, away. Count down the last moments of 2009, and help our Scottish piper welcome in 2011 with a chorus of 'Auld Lang Syne' before returning to the comfort of your room and snuggling down in our soft, fluffy duvets.
New Years Day in the Lake District
Indulge in a couple of extra hours in bed after the night's celebrations and make the most of our Lakeland Brunch, which is served until 1pm. Then reap the benefits of our central Lake District location and explore our award-winning landscape - perhaps a lake cruise or a leisurely stroll, or loosen those purse strings and hit the January sales in Ambleside's gorgeous boutiques and galleries.
Of course, the quiet of the hotel is also an option should your New Year start with a bit of a hangover!
Then prepare yourselves for a real feast. Our New Year menu's are prepared using local produce by Head Chef, John and his Team. And to match the food, there's equally fabulous entertainment from our Magician and The Regent Quiz.
