Ambleside Sports Break on the Shores of Lake Windermere
For over 200 years, locals and visitors alike have enjoyed Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling believed by some to have been introduced by the Vikings over 1000 years ago.l one of the main draws to local event, Ambleside Sports - particularly as the wearing of the traditional costume is required!
The Sports is a fantastic family day out and attended by visitors and locals who enjoy the traditional Lakeland Sports and competitive events including cycling, fell running and hound trailing.
There is also plenty to browse and buy in the Made in Cumbria Craft Marquee, plus there's so much more to mention including:
