You know how January can feel a little bit 'bla' after the glitz and glamour of the festive period. The thing is (and don't tell everyone) but January doesn't HAVE to feel like that - yes really?!
Our special January break is perfect for if you're trying to save a few pennies as we're offering a second night half price when you book 2 nights mid-week...and despite what people may think January is a brilliant time to visit the Lake District!
Plan your break around great activities
Peter Pan at Theatre by the Lake (throughout Jan)
Fly with Peter and Wendy on a magical adventure to Neverland and back, from the safety of the Darlings’ nursery to the underground home of the Lost Boys, the Indians’ encampment, the Mermaid’s lagoon (home of the ticking crocodile) and the pirate ship captained by the dastardly Captain Hook and his fearsome crew!
The growth of Grasmere Village at Dove Cottage (Sat 10th Jan)
Inspired by Donald Woodburn’s gift of a large-scale 19th-century map of Grasmere, we begin to trace the growth of settlement in the Vale of Grasmere over the last 500 years. Photographs, maps, directories and manuscript sources, in the Wordsworth Trust’s archive and in private ownership, offer much evidence of how the present village came to be.
Jazz night with Boogie Bill Roberts (17th Jan)
Boogie Bill Roberts sings and plays an eclectic mix of anything from the Beatles to boogie woogie, with a fair helping of jazz classics.
