Storm Desmond blew its way in Ambleside on Friday and kept us from leaving the building for 24 hours! Luckily we had an amazing bunch of guests who made the most of a very difficult and worrying situation.
A big thankyou goes out to the lady from room 21, who was fantastic in her efforts to organise and help out with the damage.
The bar was kept busy and everyone remained in good spirits, what little staff we had worked their socks off to keep everyone happy and the hotel running as normal.
They are all stars, especially Eric who moved from Commis Chef to Head Chef and Karen our Reservations Manager who turned back on her way home on Friday night to make sure she was at the hotel for a very busy time at Reception. We owe them a huge thanks!
The Regent has survived the worst of the flooding with no real dramas. 2 suites were flooded but we have already dried them out already and are well on the way to getting them back to normal.
Thanks to everyone who stayed at Regent over the weekend, guests and staff, it certainly was a weekend to remember.
