In recent weeks we have been blessed with stunning sunny weather, spring has certainly come early this year and it has got us excited about the season ahead! Spring is a great time to visit the Lake District and here’s why...
Peace and Quiet
In spring you get the best of both worlds, promising weather and peace and quiet. Peak season in summer is very busy with tourists, great for many but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Come for a break mid week in March and you can enjoy quiet footpaths and some sunny days.
Work off Winter
We all do it...eat and drink more than we planned over Christmas and New Year. The dark cold nights of January and February make getting back into fitness a challenge! The longer days and warmer temperatures mean it isn’t so hard in March. Here in the Lake District we have so many fabulous walking trails which are great for jogging.
Bluebells and Daffodils
You know that spring has arrived when the daffodils and bluebells have sprung. Against the backdrop of the fells and rolling green fields the spring flowers look utterly beautiful. A spectacle everyone should enjoy during a trip to the Lake District.
In March most of the trees are still bare, but this brings its own beauty, many of the spectacular views are hidden by green trees in summer. In spring you can see the Lake District from a new, magical perspective.
