The hotel is just a gentle walk from the picturesque village of Ambleside. From our front door, you can walk the fells, cruise England's largest lake, explore Galava Roman fort in Borrans Park, and enjoy Ambleside’s amazing array of outdoor shops, cafés and restaurants.
Waterhead Bay is an incredibly picturesque and popular bay situated at the northern end of Lake Windermere in the Lake District and we are very privileged to have our hotel here.
A lakeside addition to Ambleside, Waterhead Bay is only a mile away from the village.
The bay is surrounded by traditional Lakeland slate houses, hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops, and is a bustling destination for those hiring a rowing boat, catching a lake cruise or partaking in a spot of duck and swan feeding!
The views from the bay are stunning, stretching across the lake to the Langdale Pikes and beyond. And a short walk north of our beautiful bay is Borrans Park in which you can enjoy a picnic or examine the remains of the Roman Fort of Galava.
In an area where we are spoilt for choice for great views, great activities and fantastic local produce, Waterhead Bay stands out for encapsulating all of those things.
